Indeed, Yamaha's fabled DX7 was also notoriously difficult to program, and virtually single-handedly kicked off the third-party patch industry. It's not a coincidence that the first synth ever to enjoy truly blockbuster sales was packed with excellent presets. However, the vast majority of keyboard players depend on presets to compose and record their arrangements. Installed it to same location as mentioned above.Preset synth patches are either a boon or a bane, depending on one's programming prowess. In fact, when playing both of them together hard panned it sounds fantastic stereo. With almost all presets audible differences are very subtle though some sound a bit louder or have a slightly different timing. I tried it together with my DX7 II and they sound almost the same. Working with floppies is getting more difficult every day…. Would this work with a DX7II? Have to check it out. I used the previous version of Dexed quite a lot. The TX7 respond to the same DX7 messages, so yes it is compatible. Would really love if someone would address the question of whether or not this plugin functions as an editor for the Yamaha TX7 hardware? That would be game changer in the DAW environment. JUCE was originally developed as part of the Tracktion audio workstation. It would be great if it would be possible to use this with it!
